Why take this course?

The following topics will be covered during this course:

  • In daily life, you are constantly confronted with different movements: standing up, walking/running to the bus, picking something up, putting it away, cleaning up, etc. By training in a functional way, you learn to better deal with movements that are of great value in your daily life.
  • You train the whole body on muscular strength, mobility, endurance and especially the practical application of all these skills.
  • Functional training focuses on developing and improving the overall performance of the body
  • Functional training is a form of training that aims to develop these movement skills. Skills that contribute to our quality of life, improve performance and prevent injuries.
  • Functional training contributes to good muscle functionality, building muscle mass and increasing strength in the whole body
  • You work on your condition, stamina and strength during the training sessions

Functional training has been the normfor defence personnel for some time now, and it plays a significant role in the sustainable employability of the personnel because the training sessions have a great deal in common with the work as a soldier. The body is, as it were, prepared in a training form for the work in practice.

An important component for the military that functional training fits in well with is the improvement of trunk stability. This is important because it helps to reduce injuries, improve posture and enhance (sports) performance. It is also specifically important for military personnel when carrying heavy equipment such as a bullet-proof vest and/or a backpack.

In addition to the benefits of boxing such as improving reflexes, coordination, stamina and strength, boxing is a sport that trains the whole body. It also increases self-confidence, discipline and self-control.

For the military person, boxing helps to improve perseverance and core stability, which in turn helps to reduce injuries, improve posture and enhance (sports) performance, and for the military person it is specifically important when wearing heavy equipment such as a bulletproof vest and/or a backpack.

It also increases combat readiness and is an excellent addition to (military) self-defence. It increases the chance of acting correctly in a serious situation when a 'fight or flee reaction' occurs.

The relatively limited risk of injury and learning the boxing basics in a short time makes boxing applicable for a broad target group.

With the DeploymentBox from M.E.G.A. sport equipment, a wide variety of training sessions can take place with strength and conditioning training/functional training at the core.

During the course, you will be taught the basics, with which you will get to work on and with the DeploymentBox.

In concrete terms, this means that after the course you will be familiar with the basics of strength and conditioning training/functional training and the basics of boxing. This knowledge can then be used when training with the DeploymentBox.

There will also be an explanation of the assembly, disassembly, transport and maintenance of the DeploymentBox.

For the military, the DeploymentBox is an ideal tool to keep yourself and your unit in top condition anywhere in the world. The high-quality materials in combination with its mobility make this transportable sports facility an asset.

unique cooperation

The course is given in cooperation between Eleiko | WeLift and M.E.G.A. sport equipment.
The specialists of Eleiko and WeLift, together with their experienced instructors, will teach you the basics of strength and conditioning and M.E.G.A. sport equipment will teach you all the in's and out's about the DeploymentBox and the basics of boxing.
The course has a healthy alternation of theory and practice, so that the knowledge gained can be immediately applied in practice. In addition, there will be some interesting lectures on (mental) health.

is familiar with defence as an organisation and its personnel. The management of M.E.G.A. sports equipment where Luc, Bas and Errol have the lead, were themselves for a long time part of various (specialist) units within defence and police. From this came the passion for getting fit and inventive under any circumstances, this was the basis for the development of the DeploymentBox in 2011.

Currently, M.E.G.A. sports equipment defence is a broadly exclusive supplier of indoor and outdoor strength and conditioning equipment/facilities.

The course will be interspersed with some lectures that connect to functional training and (mental) health.

This great mix of specialists makes this a valuable training in which you are introduced to our Deployment Box, learn the basics of strength and conditioning and boxing. And get practical tips during the lectures.
