At this government location, the main user is the Korps Commando Troepen (KCT), who are part of the Dutch special forces. This unit, which often has to operate at the cutting edge, requires an optimal physical and mental condition.
The assignment:
The assignment consisted of placing an S&C room in combination with specific train objects that fit in with the users' field of work. In the preliminary phase of this project, we had frequent contact about the composition of the S&C room and a working group put together a package of requirements.
This included a fastrope platform from which procedure training can take place. There are also various removable obstacles that can be adjusted in height, which can be climbed over or crawled under. There is also a large variety of pull-up bars with various grips and a rotating bar. A monkey bar has been placed between the RIG, which consists of two parts. Besides the RIG and the fastrope platform, we also removed part of the "old" wooden sports floor and poured concrete. Next, 43mm premium rubber granulate tiles were placed in combination with cut-in lift platforms with unit logo.
Prior to the execution, we worked out the entire interior in 3D. The client was able to view the room through 3D glasses, which gave him an excellent idea of what the room would look like. At this stage, the layout and, among other things, the materials/colour composition can still be fine-tuned.
